About REPSOL

Formerly known as Campsa in 1927. In October 1987, with a symbolic capital (60,000 ptas), the INH creates Repsol S.A. as a result of the rearrangement of the Spanish petrol sector and adapting to the changes at a world-wide level.

Its activities encompass exploration, production, transport and refining of petrol and gas. Repsol S.A. goes on to have 5 affiliates: Exploración (previously Hispanoil), Petróleo (previously ENPETROL), Butano (previously Butano S.A.), CAMPSA and Petronor. Repsol QuÍmica (Alcudia), initially an affiliate of Repsol Petróleo, later also becomes an affiliate.
The group takes its name from a brand of lubricants commercialised by REPESA, for its visibility and easy pronunciation in different languages and with the objective of becoming a leading brand of world prestige and recognition.
Repsol successfully concluded operations to recover fuel from the shipwrecked oil tanker Prestige, under the commission of the Spanish government. The company was awarded the Platts and Global Energy awards for the best Engineering Project in 2004, owing to the innovation and technology displayed to face the technical challenges posed by the operation.

Repsol, under its official distributor UMW Lubricant International Sdn Bhd (ULI), has launched its latest motorcycle lubricant oil, the Moto Formula Premium 4T 10W40 and Moto Formula 4T 10W40 multigrade oil at the Sepang International Circuit over the raceweekend.

“Repsol is a standard bearer in premium lubricant oil products. These products that are launched will cater to the local demand for an affordable and competitive quality blend. With that said, today is another proud moment for us through our collaboration with the world-renowned Repsol team. Since its introduction in year 2011 into the Malaysian market, Repsol has gained a good portion of the market share and we are looking towards positive growth by the end of this year. We are confident that Repsol, which already received good response in Malaysia and the region, will continue to gain market growth towards becoming the market leader,” said UMW Manufacturing & Engineering Division Executive Director Megat Shahrul Azmir. “Repsol is excited to introduce our new product to the Malaysia market today. The latest Repsol lubricant oil, is engineered to surpass consumer expectations and perform at peak levels in extreme conditions for all local motorcycle types. The Repsol sponsored Honda team, the defending champion in MotoGP is a testament of our product’s reliable performance in professional and normal use,” said Repsol Lubricants Director Antonio Portela.

The lubricant, said to be specially formulated to perform at optimum levels for all motorcycle types, is blended locally under strict Repsol supervision and quality control according to API and JASO T 903:2006 MA standards which are recommended by most automobile manufacturers. Both the mineral type Moto Formula 4T 10W40 and the semi-synthetic Moto Formula Premium 4T 10W40 are fortified with the latest additive technology that allows peak operation in extreme temperature conditions while providing protection to the gear and clutch system for a longer service life.
